Daughter of Smoke and Bone (Daughter of Smoke and Bone, #1) by Laini Taylor

This book is one of the founding reasons I had to create the "too-amazing-for-words" bookshelf on my Goodreads. When I finished this book I was such a whirlwind of emotions and had absolutely no idea what I was supposed to do with my life.

May have had a partial bit to do with the fact that I was severely lacking sleep and had become a zombie of sorts....
AND.. I know for a fact that my grades plummeted during the time period I was reading this which was luckily only about two days because it demanded my attention and had to be read to completion as fast as possible. I literally took this book everywhere with me and almost got it confiscated by various teachers.
But can we please just take a minute to admire the freaking cover?? It is the definition of hauntingly beautiful and just a little bit scary that it completely captures your eye. Props to Laini Taylor for creating a book that is really equally beautiful on the inside and out. I ENCOURAGE you to judge this book by it's cover because you will surely not be disappointed.
The writing was just SO WELL DONE.
The sentences and the wording was so smooth, it felt lyrical. The fell together almost like a poem and I just got so lost in it. Which also lead me to reading until 4am on a school night and being a groggy mess in the morning. THOUGH there are a A LOT of questions, and I mean A LOT, and they do not get answered quickly. There is a huge climax moment so my guess is everything is confusing so the reader has no choice but to walk in blindly to the huge moment. It's basically impossible to know what's going to happen when you not even sure what is at the present moment, so your exactly where she wants you to be.
MOST IMPORTANT THING I CAN TELL YOU IS TO JUST NOT GIVE UP ON THIS BOOK NO MATTER HOW FRUSTRATING IT GETS...

SERIOUSLY, I loaned this to a friend and every single day she came up to me and asked me what the flipping hell was going on and then she finally hit that moment and was like OMG IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW. Everything will become crystal sparkingly clear... like Edward Cullen type level.
No I don't really like twilight but ^^ he was good for the use of this review. Last thing. Buy this book together with it's sequel cause you find out all the information.. and then the book ends. I was seriously searching for wherever the rest of my book went and yeah... it's over. Luckily I already had the sequel on hand, so I would recommend the same for you.

2nd Book of the Series: Days of Blood and Starlight

The Prophecy (The Fulfillment, #1) by Erin Albert

The Prophecy (The Fullfillment #1) by Erin Albert

AMAZING, LOVED. GIVE ME SEQUEL NOW.

I will admit... I got the push to read this book as a result of Crystal in Bookland's huge giveaway but it was already on my Nook beforehand. And I am so regretting not getting to it sooner!

Layla was perfect and so real which was impressive considering the high fantasy of this book. When facing her death, instead of cowering in fear or showcasing random extreme amounts of bravery, Layla has a different and badass approach.
"[...] I have to kill you."

She wanted to scream or argue, to beg for her life, yet only one word slipped from her mouth. "Why?"
She was so human. In YA, there are often so many characters who lose normal characteristics while authors try to make their character better then the next persons but Albert hit it spot on. Layla was slightly girly when around a cute boy like most teenagers and mixed with her toughness from Vanguard strength she blended into my would-be best friend.
And she made mistakes and refreshingly so not every single one cost her someone's else's or her own life. In fact some were just downright cute and adorable.
He turned and caught her staring at his lips no less. Her face grew warm.
Vespa, is Layla's best friend. Throughout all the craziness, jealousy, misunderstandings and unjust hatred she is loyal, unbiased and honest. They were both little sisters with two older, protective big brothers, which I could relate to, little sisters unite! Additionally, both broke down the barriers of helpless females, just because you are in love with a boy, that does not mean you suddenly can't take care of yourself.

But her brothers were adorable doing it. Grant only showed up early and later on but whenever he was there, boy had his A-Game! And Samson, your ass better show up more in the sequel cause I was wondering where the hell you were during this one. Anyway, they did have some adorable sibling moments and I demand more.

Will and Nash <3. Super spoilers if too much is said but I love these boys with all my heart.

The POV probably takes the cake though. It wasn't anyone's exact perspective more like a third person as needed basis where they switched if the previous character wasn't in that scene or the reader  really needed to know what was going on but only a few characters knew what was happening.

This is also one of those books where shit hits the fan at the end in a really big way. You'll know when you get there and it's totally worth so just pick up this book and splurge cause it's well worth your time and your not going to be able to put it down.

Favorite thing: by the end of the book every character that was on the "good side" had become a family, they were all willing to lay down their lives for one another without a second thought. Also shoutout to Volton for being universal dad cause you were da bomb.

Oh and Elder Werrick needs to die.

Guess Whose Back? Back Again...

Back to blogging! Damn, it's been a while.
I have switched owning various different book blogs on different servers with different domains for a few years. I started actually back in 2013 switched to Wordpress few months later, underestimated school and the workload, had difficulty managing anything involving the internet including homework and then the holy grail.
My mother blessed me with a laptop that was all my own so I figured why not start up again. Slowly at Blogger because blessed free domain and see how things go.

Hi I'm Elena by the way.
